Speaking with Rainforest Alliance at Reuters Responsible Business Conference

2 June 2021: Tomorrow (Thursday 3 June) I interview Nigel Sizer, Chief Global Alliances Officer of the Rainforest Alliance at the Reuters Responsible Business Conference 2021 about the need to transform the relationship between business and biodiversity.

The Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organization working at the intersection of business, agriculture, and forests to make responsible business the new normal. The organization is building an alliance to protect forests, improve the livelihoods of farmers and forest communities, promote their human rights, and help them mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis.

The conference started yesterday (1 June) after an opening address by HRH The Prince of Wales, with a focus on the ‘Terra Carta’ – a charter that puts sustainability at the heart of the private sector.

The event unites business, government and sustainability and environmental actors including Carlos Alvarado, the President of Costa Rica; The Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP, President COP26; Satya Tripathi, Secretary-General of the Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet, United Nations; Hilde Hardeman, Head – Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI), European Commission; and CEOs and other seniors offices of global businesses including Bentley Motors, IBM, IKEA, L’Oreal etc.
